PURPOSE OF THE MARKET

The Kissimmee’s Farmers’ Market is supported by The City of Kissimmee and the Love Makes Me Grow organization. It is operated by the Kissimmee Main Street program, a nationally accredited Main Street® program whose mission is to preserve and enhance Downtown Kissimmee for present and future generations. The Farmers’ Market was created to enhance our community’s connection with local food, artisans, horticulturist, service providers, and more! It also provides a monthly family outing destination for our residents and visitors. Please read through our policies below before applying to see if we are a good fit for your business.

For the market to thrive, vendor participation is a necessity. Before completing an application, please read the entire Vendor Application and Information page and make sure your product meets the criteria and that you can meet the rules of the market. If you have not visited the market before, we strongly encourage you to do so before applying. The Kissimmee Valley Farmers’ Market is a twice a month Farmers Market. Please keep this in mind when applying to become a vendor.

The standard rent for a Vendor Booth is $25.00 a day per 10 x 10 ft. space. Additional spaces can be purchased for $15.00 per space.

PRODUCTS

The essence of the market is to offer items like produce, plants, and specialty foods.  Other products and goods that are accepted are intended to supplement the essence while adding variety to the farmer's market.  While not all of our supplemental products are homemade and/or handcrafted, we strongly emphasize those.  Commercially manufactured products are not a good fit for the Farmers Market. The Market is not intended to be a craft fair or flea market.

​Food-related items are intended to be the core of the market experience.  The following are examples of items at the market:

Food Related & Greenery 

Produce, Plants & Flowers – fruit & vegetables, garden plants, herbs, cut flowers, bonsai, seeds, etc.Cooked/Prepared Food – baked goods, cheese, smoothies, pasta, honey, etc.Specialty Foods – coffee, condiments, jams, nuts, dried herbs, sauces, flavored oils & vinegar, etc.

Non-Food 

Handmade (preferably by the vendor) — artwork, craft, clothing, toys, stained-glass, etc.

Household items (decorative items used in the house) – wreaths, rugs, etc.

Educational

A limited number of spaces are available for non-profit educational organizations and are available on a month-to-month basis.

Informational tables (KUA, UF/IFAS Extensions, TOHO Water …) will be outside of the perimeter of the market and can only set up a table. That space is 6 x 10 ft.

Product categories that we do not accept are:

Packaged, nationally distributed foods or products

Promotional items commercial/mass-produced products (with or without an internet business)Electronics and related accessoriesAny resale/flea market type merchandise"Carnival" food such as cotton candy or funnel cakes

Product categories that we accept are:

Produce, dairy, meats, and poultry plants and/or FlowersFood and Food related products

Crafts must be handmade or original items by the artist and made locally. We reserve the right to restrict the number of vendors who carry similar types of products. Vendors are not permitted to add additional product lines outside the products described in their market application and approved by Kissimmee Main Street/Love Makes Me Grow Inc. Any subsequent additions to their initial product line will need to be reviewed by and approved by Kissimmee Main Street. If a vendor has a question on whether a specific addition will be deemed outside the existing product line, the vendor should first contact Love Makes Me Grow Inc. for prior approval of the item.

LICENSES

It is the responsibility of each vendor to obtain all appropriate licenses and to have those in their booth at all times. Each vendor must file and keep current the copies of any applicable licenses and permits with the Kissimmee Valley Farmers Market Manager. Kissimmee Main Street reserves the right to change any of the above rules without notifying the vendor and without input from the vendor.

LICENSES & HEALTH CODES

• Obtaining the proper license or permits, and obeying all codes is the sole responsibility of the vendor, including any regulations of the Florida Department of Agriculture or other regulatory agencies.

• Once approved for the Market, please provide the market manager with copies of licensing.

• Vendors preparing food in a commissary kitchen must have an Annual Food Permit issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services: https://www.fdacs.gov/Business-Services/Food/Food-Establishments.

• The market provides a blanket City of Kissimmee Business Tax Receipt for all participating vendors (that applies only while they are vending at the market).

• Sales tax, where required by the State, is the responsibility of the vendor.

• Vendors of farm products must have a current Grower Permit, which is obtained at no charge through their county’s University of Florida IFAS Extension office. (Osceola County UF IFAS Extension: 321-697-3000).

​To apply you can email us or print the application and submit it to our email kvfarmersmarket@kissimmeemainstreet.org or by clicking the apply now button at the bottom of the page. Please refer to the document below for more in-depth information and vendor processes. Kissimmee Main Street are responsible for making the final decision about new vendors.

Your application will be reviewed, and once it has been tentatively determined that your products are the quality and type to fit the market, you may be invited to vend at the market so that a complete assessment of your product, booth setup and personal presentation can be determined.

Please allow 10 - 14 business days for a review of your product. Please note that the application process will not begin until we receive a fully completed application. Kissimmee Main Street may unilaterally deny the participation of a vendor at any time. Once a vendor has been approved, the vendor will receive payment information to the email provided. The schedule is done monthly. Vendors are subject to approval. Vendors will be rotated monthly. Rent may be paid with credit cards, debit cards, checks, and cash (as last resort).

Location and Hours

The Farmers’ Market is held outdoors; weather permitting. Located at the vacant lot on the left side of the Toho Parking Garage located at 92 Pleasant Street. The Kissimmee Farmers Market shall be open the first Friday of every month and the third Saturday of every month, unless otherwise amended by Kissimmee Main Street, from the hours of 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM (F) and 2:00pm to 6:00pm (S). Vendors may begin setting up as early as 3:00pm on Fridays and 12pm on Saturday’s. The hours of operation and location may be changed, when required, at the discretion of Kissimmee Main Street. As much notice as possible will be given to vendors and attendees in these cases.

**NOTE: We will not be open on any first Friday that falls on a holiday to allow vendors to celebrate with their families.
